Hey everyone! How is it going? Hope really well.
I am doing pretty good. It has been a hectic week – all good things though. Getting life back into some sort of order with work ramping up and school getting back into session next week. But I am here! And I am here with a fun post on our last day in Paris, our day 8.
So…let’s get into it! Oo before I do, I want to apologize because I had brain fog while putting the number of days together for these posts. I actually had issues even while I was away. If you caught one of my pics not being number right either. 🤦🏻♀️ It’s all due to when we left -on July 5, which was day one, but technically July 6 would’ve been day one because we arrived in London that day and it just made my number counting all wrong.. so July 5 is day one. I had to go back into my old posts and fix all the days so I just want to say sorry for the confusion! NOW let’s get into it!
July 12- Day 8 -a day of beauty
This was an absolutely fun and educational day filled with art, culture, and delicious treats. It began with checking out of our hotel and leaving our luggage for the day. Then we went to eat a quick breakfast from a bakery nearby. We grabbed an assortment of things and ate outside – I am not a big sweets person, and neither are the French in the morning. So I grabbed a spinach and cheese bread that was probably my favorite eats the whole Paris trip!

After breakfast, we grabbed the Metro and made our way to the Orangerie museum. The Orangerie is literally what it is.. it was the royal orange tree Winter shelter. In 1852 it was convertrd to a museum, where they built a special room with Monet to house his Water Lilies in the round. Monet’s mastery of light is magnificent. The whole museum is, actually. It is just the right size to walk through!

Our plan was to walk over to the iconic Louvre, but not before we enjoyed a leisurely lunch at a café situated near the museum’s stunning property. We grabbed sandwiches and crepes, and Aperol Spritzes por moi. 😊

We made it to the Louvre for our reservations at 2:30P. The line to get in without a reservation was way over an hour wait. Crazy! Walking through the hallowed halls, we found ourselves lost in all the artwork then before we knew it we were standing in the looong line before the Mona Lisa—I forgot how small she is in person. But she is beautiful- what a sight. I couldn’t help but be humbled by her presence as everyone was swarming for their five seconds to view her.

We went all around until the museum drew to close, where we then left and hopped on a train to the tenth quarter, eagerly anticipating dinner reservations at the historic Bouillon Julien. We were all starving!!
This art nouveau brasserie, a true architectural dream, embraced us in a world of intricate designs and elegance. I have never been anywhere so ornate and beautiful (as in a restaurant) before. I fell in love and felt so happy among all the beauty.

Dinner was fabulous. We grabbed mimosas (eggs), braised leeks w hazelnuts, tomato tarte, fried fish, steak and roasted fish. And my husband wanted a whipped cream puff. The flavors of our meal were just as exquisite as the surroundings.

Our night wasn’t over…
With our hearts full of art and memories, and our bellies full of deliciousness, we returned to our hotel to retrieve our luggage. An Uber ride took us to the town of Chessy, where our excitement bubbled over—tomorrow was the girls’ highly anticipated day at Disneyland Paris.

Our hotel, Hotel Dali, was beautiful and chilly with AC. A much welcomed feeling after the heat we had battled. I didn’t say it but IT WAS A SCORCHAH! Anyways.. We did pass out cold (literally) fairly quickly as we were exhausted from a day of walking everywhere. It was THE best way to end our day. And guess what? No one complained of my snoring 😆.
Woo! What a day! Now I have to get some sleep. It’s way past midnight and I have work tomorrow. 😱
Thanks for stopping by guys! Your support reading along is always a pleasure and appreciated. I hope these posts aren’t tedious and feel like I’m sharing something
til next post xo
Elle est petite la Joconde, hein ?
Oui est très petit, surtout en comparaison avec l’étonnante œuvre d’art en face qui occupe tout le mur !
Wow, the food, the art, the views! Such a beautiful place, Valeria! I didn’t know that you speak French!
Yes I do! I actually speak four languages. In a prev life I thought I wanted to work in linguistics, but it turned out I just wanted to travel. 😂
Wow, you are amazing, Valeria! ❤️
I wish I was. Thanks John!
You are, Valeria! 😊
Such a beautiful place.
