Hello! Merry Christmas and happiest of holiday weeks to you!
We are on vacation this week, thankfully and definitely needed. It has been a long season of joy, and man oh man, we are just spent. Relaxing these couple of days following the past weeks of our December have been spectacular and I don’t want it to end! I miss doing nothing! 😛
Though this time of year is my utmost favorite; Christmas is just the best, isn’t it? It snuck up on me this year. We celebrated literally each weekend, both days, since Thanksgiving between holiday parties and birthdays, it’s been cray cray! A lot of people in my family have birthdays this month..ahem, myself included!! Let’s give it up to the December babies.. we are the best! THE BEST!!! haha Then with that nice warmer than normal weather, it didn’t feel all that much like Christmas. Actually, not till today did it feel like the Christmas season.. if you don’t live here, we got a few inches of snow and a big chill. (womp!!) I was really loving our 50-65 F Winter!
Even if it was busy, we had a lot of fun. This holiday we copied last year…we celebrated with my husband’s family on the Eve and my family on the Day. I took as many photos as I could, then, unfortunately, my camera ended up dying on me Christmas Day, but I tried remembering my iphone to take some..
Here’s what I shot this Christmastime 2015…
>>>My favorite family tradition… Making Gingerbread Houses
This year my husband decided he wanted to make the gingerbread houses from scratch! ..uh, I did not as we had no time to relax much this season. hah BUT, over a three-day span he did it! The kids designed their houses too, though they look cookie cutter out of the box, they are not. They asked for traditional houses. He, on the other hand, wanted to make an uber post modern house. The smell in the house was amazing, and the gingerbread tasted real good!
He made the dough, cut then baked them one night. Assembled then iced the houses another night. Then on the third night we all decorated them. It was a lot of fun, and what a difference a year makes! Our girls decorated each of their houses without much assistance. <–last year it was basically myself!
Here’s a photo run down of the fun!
I hope you all had an amazing holiday like we had and that you have a great week leading up to the New Year.
HAVE A FABULOUS NEW YEAR!!!!!
